Happy Birthday, Wan En!
Just woke up and I must blog about yesterday and the day before, before I forget what happened.
On Thursday we were supposed to start all academic stuff but the teachers all talked about Code of Conduct, expectations, rules and all that shit. So it was a long day till 3PM plus about them. I met Weihui after school at Marine Parade Library, in attempt to study and do some of her assignments which her classmates got the whole of the holidays to do, but she only had less than a week.
We tried to, but obviously we spent our times on New York Cheesecake, Chocolate Cake and this cup of thing at Starbucks. Did homework for a while and we took a cab to SGH 'cause I didn't know how to go home from there and I needed company! Weihui told me some perverted jokes on the way, she talked so loud I think the driver knew exactly what she said. It was an 8.90 ride, and who estimated 15 bucks? I have not visited my grandfather since the second of January and now he's wearing an oxygen mask.
"Okay, the patient on Bed 4 (beside my grandfather's) passed away. This is the first time in my life I've seen someone before he died. And I thought he looked pretty fine, only he was wearing the oxygen mask." -02 January 2006
Did work at the patient's room, walked round the hospital and had dinner at Delifrance. I was eating cup noodles from 7-11 at Delifrance. See? My parents brought me home after that.
On Friday it was what I called slack. We really only had Computer Studies, Aesthetics and Assembly. Add recess to make it look even more slack. We had a free period during Computer Studies so my group and some other classmates ended up playing Bingo again, and Murderer. Bingo was okay but Murderer turned out weird 'cause I think someone killed me but I was not sure whether it was a wink or a blink. During Aesthetics, we did sandwich, Milo and papaya boat. Before that we had to wear this apron, which I got tangled in. We didn't really learn how to make Milo. The teacher put in all the ingredients of Milo and all we needed to do was stir. Then the sandwich looked as though it would taste bad 'cause there was mayonnaise and cheese and tomatoes and cucumbers in it. And for the papaya boat we cut and placed it so nicely but finished it in less than a minute. Rushed off forAssembly, a talk by the principal.
After school my father called and said, "Hurry up come to the gate, Gong Gong dying.". I was really shocked so I ran out to the gate. He fetched me to the hospital. On the way he said maybe we should have lunch first, what the hell, he said Gong Gong was dying and yet he still had to mood to have lunch? Fuck! Reached the hospital, saw most of my relatives there, most had red eyes. At that point I really though my grandfather was dead. My mother said he had a lot of phlegm and they couldn't decipher what he said. So the nurses used something to take the phlegm out. He survived! But after that all my aunts had difficulties waking him. Usually he would wake up if they called him but this time he wouldn't. Everyone called him, shouted his name and all that to no avail. My mother was crying already and then I started crying as well. All the cousins present were calling for him, holding his hand. It was a rather sad situation when Weiyi suddenly called him Hock Leng. Haha! My grandfather's name. And Weihui called him everything she thought off. Ah Hock, Ah Leng, Mr Ng etc. Oh my gawd why make me laugh when I was crying. Contradiction! Okay then Weihui called him Shuai ge. She told him that his hair was messy and if he wanted her to help him comb. Weihui found a comb in the drawer and combed some Armani (whatever you spell it as) hairstyle for him. My grandfather occassionally opened his eyes but they always closed after a few seconds. Someone informed my grandfather's long-not-contacted sons and their mother to come. The elder son held my grandfather's hand, the younger one took no initiative. Then my grandfather opened his eyes and moved his hands. He seemed agitative. I don't really know what happened between them, whatever. The younger son kept asking us to pat him so he knew we were there for him.
My grandfather didn't really wake up all the time we were there. The cousins had pizza delivered to us for dinner. One month since I ever had pizza. Then Joel bought this bowl of ice kachang. My father said why he only bought one bowl for himself. Then Joel replied that he took many spoons. So Weiying said that she could've bought a cup of drink and taken many straws. Haha! After that we went to the patients' room and watched the television, went home soon after that. Aunt Lillian and Uncle Peng Seng stayed over there. I left my jacket with Aunt Lillian, although it usually couldn't help me stay away from the coldness in my classroom.
And then this morning I forgot to go for a face painting lesson. Oh nooooo, I can't join them during the carnival I assume. Sad.
Gonna bring my homework to the hospital to do. And by the way I gave my mother the sandwich I made and she said it tasted horrible but she still finished it. Thanks mommy!
